Bike Polo in Barcelona

Here’s a day I’m writing about that happened last week that I’m sneaking in. The whole timing of this blog is gonna get really confusing. So this one happened Sunday, the day after the hiking in Barcelona. Then, the next post I post will be about my last day leaving Barcelona.

Sooo… Sunday, best day probably ever in Barcelona, maybe one of the best of my whole trip. We woke up late on Sunday, and made some eggs and cheese bread with chorizo on top. So yum. Typical meal time with Gordon and Leighton. I liked it a lot.

Then, we realized it was late and we should head to the bike polo courts. The group was planning an afternoon pick-up game around 1pm and we decided to attend. Weren’t sure of the plan that day, but it was sunny and nice out. Seemed like a great idea to spend the good weather in good company. We get there and watch for awhile, then we see someone walk up with a bbq. He’s got his polo stick alongside his bbq. So cute. He (I remembered his name last week….I apologize!!) asks us to chip in because they were gonna bbq later that day. We do and decide to grab some beverages to accompany us because we are gonna stay the whole day now for sure.

I spend the day at the bike polo rink. It’s beautiful, I get a tan and I am meeting and re-greeting the bike polo guys. They are all super friendly and very chill and inviting. Leighton and Gordon even play in some games too, but I just watched because I was feeling very lazy. I wanted to keep my first time my only time for now. Not sure why. But I still don’t regret just watching and chatting all day and sitting in the sun, snacking on various Spanish meets and snacks. SO relaxing.

It was exactly the day I wanted. I ended up getting to know a lot of people  a lot better, and many of the guys want to cycle through California, so I told them to send me an email if they ever need a host or a couch!

Have some pics between Leighton and I. Mine first J :
